I really, really hate when people hate on companions…

… but Peri really gets on my nerves. She’s not the adventurous type and complains about everything.

You’re traveling the universe with the Doctor, Peri, can’t you see how lucky you are?

Please, please, someone tell me what serial I can watch so I can like her. I WANT to like Peri. Please help me do that.

Really can’t stand Peri but I think she had a better dynamic with Colin than Peter.

Okay, so Peri, much like Six, fell victim to the poor quality of the show at the time.  And also like Six, she is completely redeemed in the audios. If you want Peri and Six at their best try Recorded Time and Other Stories. Four wonderful short stories that do her character justice. For Peri and Five (which I have to admit I ship like burning so clearly I quite like them together) start with The Eye of the Scorpion which intros Erimem who travels with Five and Peri for most of their stories and becomes Peri’s best friend. Erimem (a marvellous character on her own right) really brings out the best in Peri and the pair of them are simply wonderful as a team.

Not sure which you want? Try Peri and the Piscon Paradox a widely praised companion chronicle (if you don’t like it it’s only an hour out of your life) that gives a great look at her character, plays with time in interesting ways and manges to be hilarious and also heartbreaking.

And if you don’t adore Peri after that then, well, you can’t win them all.

Also. Today, Peri and the Piscon Paradox. I had to go to the bathroom and cry. Great blubbery man tears. Why would you even. How. I can’t. PERI JUST GOD I LOVE YOU OKAY.

The Companion Chronicle Find and Relpace was so wonderful.

Katy Manning both completely killed as Iris, bringing top form hilarity and destroyed my heart as Jo with her reflecting on her relationship with the Doctor. Not to mention her Pertwee impression which was spot on for inflection and tone.

Also I was really glad that they didn’t do the obvious mistaken identity story that was there with those two. Not that I don’t want to see it but I like that it was unexpected.

Over all there was just a whole lot of heart to it and it was wonderful.

Listened to the Jago and Litefoot Companion Chronicle today at work

and I was in fits from laughing. I had to actually take a minute by myself to calm down. As soon as i get the money I am getting their series. I am so excited for them.
