People talking about Doctor Who on Tumblr always makes me go “huh” because what they think of when they say Doctor Who has little to do with what I think of then I hear Doctor Who.
Sometimes I remember that the majority of Doctor Who fans don’t geek out at a mention of the R-101.

WHAT made me think listening to Scherzo at work would be anything like a good idea?
Like, I though it wouldn’t be as traumatic as I was remembering.

I think that every one needs to take a moment to remember that there is some one who the Doctor loves. And who he told so. Some one he willingly sacrificed not only himself but the TARDIS for. Someone that pulled him back from the brink with her love and friendship.

Day 04::What’s Your Favorite Relationship on Doctor Who?
Well, these two obviously, as they are married beyond words and adorable enough to kill. I have built enough fanon around them that I ought to need zoning permits for the ship because where they conflict can be interesting the places in between when they are happy together are beautiful, and these incarnations are the most compatible of the lot. Both of them the most willing to compromise than any other of them selves, they can meet half-way letting them enjoy long happy stretches of time together.
Also:
Five and Nyssa, who was really the only companion Five genuinely liked, trusted and respected up until Erimem and after Peri grew on him in audio land. They are so like minded, calm, polite, scientifically minded. Nyssa is the only person who can keep up with him and up with Zoe as Romana and one of the smartest companions ever. Five is often painted and a gallant knight sort of Doctor and Nyssa is a Science Princess. They where basically made for each other. I think that there is a huge amount of love between them and they have really great chemistry too.

Eight and Charley who have the most beautiful friendship ever. I love how they are both a little frivolous and both a lot awesome.

Big Finish has just announced a huge sale on their first 50 Doctor Who audios! Starting June 6, a group of audios going in release order will be available for £5 each for one day only (click through to see the release schedule). In addition, other items will be discounted during their annual June sale, and if you’re lucky enough to live near Barking, you can find more stuff at Big Finish Day on June 11. This is a really good opportunity to buy some audios if they’re normally out of your price range.
On a personal note, I realize pirating is an easy option but if you’ve ever heard a Big Finish audio, you know how much work goes into making them. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk with the head of BF as well as several of the writers, and they’re very frank about just how much revenue they lose through pirating. This is a small company and these aren’t rich men & women - if they didn’t love what they do, I doubt BF would still be in business. If it’s within your means to do so, please take advantage of the sale and toss some money their way.
